how is a will filed in the state of FL?

after the death of an individual, a petition for administration is filed and it includes the will. That is how a will is filed. No filing is done prior to death.

You can file your will prior to death in the county clerk's office of the area you live in. they will place in a sealed envelop until it is discovered via publication that you have passed. They will then file the notice that the will is in the office of the clerk.
