Your right to information depends on what stage the probate process has reached, what the will (if any) says, and what relationship you have to the deceased.

Papers actually filed in the court are public information, and you have the right to examine the file and make copies.

Executors and administrators are usually required to provide information on all transactions in the form of periodic reports, which are provided to all interested parties.

In addition, if you are an heir or beneficiary under the will, you have the right to demand that the executor or administrator provide an accounting of their actions to the court at any time.
