Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

Will / Probate

My wife's grandmother passed away last month. She had updated her will in handwriting without a witness splitting her estate 50/50 between my wife and her cousin. Prior to the handwriting the will gave 100% to her cousin. Knowing this would not hold up my wife had her cousin sign a family settlement agreement to spilt everything. At first it seemed as though she would follow through, now she is starting to hide the value of bank accounts, she is driving thier grandmothers car and has her brother living in thier grandmothers condo. First, will the agreement hold her to give my wife her half, and second should we ask her to stop driving the car and have her brother move out until everything is settled?

If your wife's grandmother's property is in Florida, you need to talk directly to a Florida probate attorney.

Re: Will / Probate

To give any advice on this you would need to provide the terms of the will and the agreement signed thereafter. The agreement may not be valid if there was no consideration.
