Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida
My will has been recently made and I chose just one executor. I would now like to add a codicil adding a second person to act as excutor since I have just discovered my first choice has some health problems. Since my will is new and was fairly expensive I care not to do it over

This change should be easy to execute, and cheap depending on what is in the will. I recommend re-executing a new will.Since you already have one recently drafted and there are no changes except adding an alternate executor, it can be done cheaply. Having a codicil, though easy to do, is an extra piece of paper that can get lost, and therefore is not always recommended.
... and the question is? How to execute a codicil? A codicil must be executed with the same testamentary formalities as a will. The personal representative (aka executor) of your estate who you appoint in your will/codicil must meet the statutory qualifications as one who can serve as a personal respresentative.
You could use a codicil, which should be fairly inexpensive to have an attorney handle for you, or you could do a new will. Make sure that the codicil is executed properly. If you need the assistance of an attorney, contact an estate planning attorney licensed in Florida. Regards,
