a will with stepfather in it

my mother passed away 7-28-07 and left a will leaving her half to me.i have a stepfather who is serving 4 life sentences in the florida prison systems.i want to know if i have a right to half of the 5 ac.& 2 homes that they own.the will states that she wanted me to get her half . my stepfather said his brother is buying it

It depends upon how the title to the real estate reads. If held jointly, he gets it all.
