Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

Wills & Estate

I live in the state of Florida in the city of Orlando where commonlaw relationships are not regconized. I have been divorced over 10 years and have to grown adult children.

My partner and I have recently purchased a home but he is not on the loan nor on the deed because he owes IRS and has an outstanding student loan so it would of made the interest rate on the purchaswe way to high. I want toknow if I make a will and leave him the house would he be able to keep it and would a will be the way to go. He is already the beneficery on my life insurance policies. I could not afford this home without his financial help so I want to make sure he gets the home in the event of my untimely passing.

thank you

Re: Wills & Estate

As long as you do not have any minor children, a will would do the trick. Or if you wish to keep it out of probate, you could consider a living trust.
