Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

Wills/Probate

Is it possible in the state of Florida to write your own will, if so where can I get the forms?

Upon death will this will have to go to probate?

Re: Wills/Probate

It is possible to write your own will or get forms. However, I warn against that because although there are forms for sale they are not always correct. Wills must be drafted and executed a proper way and if not can cause many problems when that person passes away. Wills are not neccesarily expensive so I suggest that you have it done properly to avoid possible heartache for your surviving family later. If a person has an asset in their name only and regardless of whether a will was made or not, the estate must pass through probate. I suggest that you retain an attorney in your state to draft a will for you and discuss possible ways to avoid probate altogether. Sincerely, Melody Stickel-Martinez, Esq. (954) 437-5968
