Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

I want to write my own will

Are the on line helps for doing a will safe? What about the will software that can be bought in a computer store?

We are a couple with limited income, but would like to insure that our son had no problem in the event of our death. We are buying our own home, have a couple of cars. And I have a retirement annuity, and a life insurance for 100,000 for the house. I would think ours would be a very simple will. Thanks for your advice. B

Sorry, but you are asking for trouble by being pennywise and pound foolish. Preparation of a will is not as expensive as you think. You can go to a library for a simple will form. You can also use the internet.

Re: I want to write my own will

Unfortunately, the public has been led to believe that one will form fits all or most. It simply isn't true. Not only that but the internet and softwares do not know you. An attorney knows the right questions to ask and what to do with the answers. Every family, every situation is slightly different. Cookie cutter wills can only work if you understand what every paragraph, indeed what every word means and you are certain nothing was left out (often the case). How would you be certain of that?

Try to contact a few wills and trusts attorneys to ask for fees. It probably won't be as much as you think. Good luck.
