Legal Question in Workers Comp in Florida

My 63-year-old husband works for a security company. He assigned to different places. Recently he had a stroke during his work and one of the residents took him to the nearby ER and he was hospitalized for a few days. He came out as a miracle! He wanted to go back to work because his paycheck is our only income. He is taking different medications in the morning and at bedtime. I'm driving him back and forth to his assigned place, it's about 40 miles each way. The problem is, his condition became worse. His leg started swelling and his speech sometimes stutter. His bosses never asked what happened in spite of complaining to one of them about his health a few days before he passed out. I'd like to know your/his legal opinions if it's there any. Please keep in mind, he has no insurance, so there is no "His doctor's opinion" here. Thank you for the replies!
