Assuming that the claimant did not die from the work related injury, there are no further benefits due and nothing to settle. If there was an outstanding claim for past wage loss of unpaid medical bills, the family can pursue that claim (limited to benefits due prior to death). All workers' compensation claim lack claims for pain and suffering, etc.
