Legal Question in Workers Comp in Florida
I hurt my back on 1/21/10 at work. I have been going and seeing all my dr's doing my therapy and complying with WC completely. Due to a family emergency I had to quit my job. I was put on TTD again on 3/26 by my surgeon. (I had to switch surgeons due to moving back home after my mom passed). The first surgeon reccommended surgery and I am due to see my new surgeon this week. I want to know if he says I need surgery as well. What happens next? I'm not sure I want to do back surgery right now (it is painful and I can't do most of my daily activities nor be the "woman" for my fiance). I heard to many horror stories about back surery and I'm nervous. I guess my questions are.
Do I need to do the surgery in order to continue with medical care? What happens if I choose not to take surgery?
Thanks

You will still be entitled to medical care even if you chose not to proceed with surgery. The surgeon will probably refer you to a doctor specializing in pain management. If you should decide not to go forward with that, you will be released and lost wages will end.
They cannot force you to have surgery. Yo need an attorney to protect your rights. You have a major injury and you do not want to be holding an empty bag on this. See www.FloridaPersonalInjuryTrialLawyer.com
