Legal Question in Workers Comp in Florida

Injured on thejob

I was seriously injured at work and am collecting the max the state allows which is $765.00 per week. I have just been told that I need to pay my own health benefits at this point. I am still employed with the company is this correct? Shouldn't workers comp be paying for everything now? Can I also recieve short term disability?

Re: Injured on thejob

Workers' compensation is only required to pay at this stage of your disabilty 66% of your average weekly wage up the the max you are receiving and for medical care. If you have a disability policy, you may be able to receive both disability and workers compensation. Call your agent or see a lawyer. If you were seriously injured, I strongly recommend you seeing an attorney. If you do not know one in your area, I can recommend one.www.ConsumerLawyerHelp.com
