Legal Question in Workers Comp in Florida

Injured at work, but not on company time.

I wanted to know was if an employee was injured at a job site, but was not on company time (hadn't signed in or just signed out) is the company still obligated to provide worker's compensation?

Re: Injured at work, but not on company time.

This is not an easy question to answer. It is more difficult to decide how to proceed. If you are on the employers premises either before or after work, within a reasonable time before you start or after you finish, you are probably covered by WC. There are exceptions which are not apparent from your question. More information is needed.

The problem is "Do you want WC to cover?" That is also something that I would need more information to answer. I would be happy to speak to you. Mark Zientz www.mzlaw.com
