If you are permanently and totally disabled, you should get an attorney to evaluate all your legal rights for workers compensation benefits as well as any potential civil liability of any person or entity responsible for your injuries. Generally, you are not rendered ineligible for workers compensation benefits solely because you are laid off by the employer responsible for benefits.

First, and foremost, your termination will have absolutely no effect upon your medical benefits. Your medical benefits are for life SO LONG AS YOU SEE A WORKERS COMPENSATION AUTHORIZED DOCTOR at least once per year. As for monetary/wage loss benefits, you are still entitled to them so long as you were not fired for misconduct. Now, as the other attorney stated, you should hire an attorney who specializes in workers' compensation becasue many insurance companies WILL cut off the wage loss benefits for termination and simply hope that you do notheing about it.
