how long after a slip and fall do you have to file for help

You have to inform your employer about the accident within 30 days. You must also ask for medical care. If you inform you employer, and you confirm that they file notice with the workers' compensation carrier, you have two years to file a claim with the the court for benefits. If you are not being provided with medical care and/or lost wages, you can file a claim as soon as the day after the accident.
