the answer is simple: call a lawuer he will protect your rights. if you are in broward county, call me.
It is not usual for a doctor to not prescribe pain medications. It could be because you have a history of problems with them OR the doctor has some question as to the extent of the problems and he does not want them masked by pain medications OR he just does not believe you. Time to find an attorney to advocate for your rights.
Whether the doctor is willing to give you medications might be because of a valid medical issue, or it might just be that the doctor is more interested in doing what is best for your employer and its insurance company, rather than what might be best to treat what the MRI appears to show as being very serious problems. To believe that you were able to do all your work, as a mechanic, with what you say you are told are old injuries, does not make sense to me. You need to see another specialist, someone who can treat the problems that you have, and hopefully give you the help you need to feel better. If you are unable to obtain proper care, then you need to consult with an experience workers' compensation attorney, who can know which doctors and specialists can best help you with your injuries, and help you to obtain the medical care that you need. I would suggest that you seek out this kind of expert help as soon as you can, to avoid having to deal with your pain issues any longer.
