Legal Question in Workers Comp in Florida

I opened a workers comp claim, I saw a workers comp doctor and he stated that I need surgery. The doctor had me work only for 4 hours a day when my schedule used to be 8. Now, because I decided to settle with the insurance company, my employer found out and they are stating that they can no longer accommodate me. But at the same time, they are stating that I will be resigning anyways because of the settlement. Which is not true, because I have not been required by the insurance company to quit my job and neither I have signed the settlement yet. Can they "let me go" while this is happening?

My prior answer still applies. These facts dont help. The question is whether the case is settled, by agreement, whether it is written down or not. What are the terms of that agreement? They can let you go anytime for any non discriminatory reason and for any reason other than the valid pursuit of a w/c case. Have an attorney get involved to review your specific circumstances
