Legal Question in Workers Comp in Florida

returning to work

i am receiving workers compensation benefits and have no desire to return to my employer when i am released to return. do i have to return to my employer?

Re: returning to work

You are entitled to ongoing medical care from the workers' compensation carrier even if you chose not to return to work with your employer. However, if you refuse suitable work, you may not be able to receive further indemnity (lost wages) with the exception of permanent impairment benefits (which may be reduced based upon a refusal of employment). Your workers' compensation case remains open for a period of up to one year from the time that you last see an authorized physician.
