In the State of Florida there is eligibility for up to two (2) years (104 weeks) of TEMPORARY benefits. Tenporary benefits are the benefits that you are probably receiving now and most probably Temporary Total Disability beneifits (TTD). TTD benefits are paid while you are actively treating with a doctor to make you better and you are on a NO WORK status. The doctor could release you to modified duty or light duty which is called Temporary PARTIAL disability. The limit of 104 weeks applies to both types of benefits or any combination of the two. A injured worker could get released to a permanent status before 104 weeks and thus, not receive the full 104 weeks.
If you are determined to be totally disable, you will recieve benefits all your life unless you settle the claim. See www.ForidaPersonalInjuryTrialLawyer.com
