Legal Question in Workers Comp in Florida
travel expenses
i am an over the road truck driver i fell off a ladder on the tanker. i have been on workmans comp for 3 weeks. The doctor has released me for modified duty, I live 300 miles away from our nearest terminal/. My company wanted me to drive a shuttle run for about 5 hrs per day. i am taking a narcotic which prevents me from drivind per department of transportation. Then the personnel director comes up with a bogus job called safety monitor with duties such as watching how our drivers get in and out of truck and monitoring there speed while on the property. Now if he says that it is modified duty for me but i live 300 miles away and do not even live there. Are they responsible for having to pay me to commute, lodging, per diem,??? also he wants me to live in a tractor trailor while i am working,,, not to mention that i have not even had my dr's prescribed MRI. also i have been put on 3 days per week physical therapy.

You really need to have a lawyer who is board certified by the Florida Bar in Workers' Compensation law represent you. The bar publishes on thier website a list of those lawyers. www.flabar.org. You are being taken advantage of big time. It would take too long to explain all your rights here or how to enforce them. If you are in my geographical area I can help, but you really need someone close to where you are.
