How long do I have to be off work before workers comp pays me? do I have to use my vacation and sick time?

Re: work comp injury
in Florida Workers' Compensation requires that you be out of work 7 days before wage benefits begin, but they should be retroactive to the first day of lost wages. Also, the 7 days do not have to be consecutive days.
You should not have to use your vacation and sick time if the disability lasts more than 7 days. If not and you want to get paid for those days then you have to use it.
