Legal Question in Workers Comp in Florida
Workers'Compensation Taxes
I was out on comp for 4 weeks. I was sent a check Tax Free from risk management. My employer called and told me the check was sent to me in error. I had to take the check to them for deposit. My employer then cut me a check and deducted my federal taxes from it. The comp check that was sent to me by mistake was tax free shouldnt my employer have given me a check tax free?. When I questioned them about it they said the check was tax free for them not me and if I found a Law or any information in reguards to the money being tax free to me give it to them. Is there any such law in writing that I can get to show them.

The employer has flat lied to you. You need to see an attorney.
