Legal Question in Workers Comp in Florida

I had knee surgery and returned to work.Ihad to go back to the Dr. and he drained fluid out of my knee.The Dr. put me out of work for the next day.I accrue sick leave,so I took a sick leave day.Workmans comp sent me a check for the day .I called the w/c company and told them Ineeded to send the check back,because i had taken a sick leave day.The rep. told me I could not send it back.Ido not want to be fired for getting paid by both w/c and the company.What should I do.

You are entitled to the WC check. Whether or not your company allows you to use sick leave during the same period of time you get WC is what you need to find out. Many companies allow employees to 'supplement' workers comp by using sick leave. Ask the HR person at your company.
