Legal Question in Immigration Law in France

French/Tunisian citizenship

Hello,

I have a friend of mine who practicly was born and lived about 20years in France. He has a dual french and tunisian citizenship but for about 10 years form now he's located in Tunisia where he is working as a manager.

His french passaport actualy did expire and he would have to make the new ones.

He is claiming that is not so easy to came back to Europe as the tunisian law doesn't allow to get a visa so easily, but what I'm wondering is why should he have so much problems if he is a French citizen and practicly has all rights to came back to French.

Can you make a legal observation on this case.

If he in fact has French nationality, then he clearly does not need a visa to enter France. Whether Tunisia requires an exit visa I do not know, but I rather doubt it. If for some reason Tunisia does require that he have an exit visa, then the visa would be delivered by the Tunisian government and not by the French government.

If he has an expired French passport that would ordinarily be sufficient proof of his French nationality and would enable him to get a new French passport.
