Legal Question in Immigration Law in France
Qualification for French/German dual nationality
I am a British citizen, my girlfriend is a US citizen, and we are both looking to move back to the UK soon. We are considering the options for her to get a work visa (apart from getting married!), and she is having difficulty in gaining a sponsor company. She does, however, have one set of French grandparents, and one set of german grandparents. Would this qualify her for either a French or German passport (and the ability therefore to work anywhere in the EU), and if so, can she retain her US passport?
Thank you.

Re: Qualification for French/German dual nationality
I am not competent to reply on the issue of German law. On the issue of French law, grandparents alone would not confer French nationality, but it it is possible that her parents have French nationality, even though they may not be aware of it. If they do, then she may have it as well. I would need more information about the grandparents and parents.
