Are both parents responsible in this scenario?

This is a hypothetical question. If I let my child drive my car in my drive way and in doing so, my child runs over another child causing a fatal accident. Will my husband be legally liable for my misjudgment, if he is not even home when it happens nor is he aware of my decision? I am employed full-time and have my own auto insurance policy.

Yes, both parents will be responsible; one may be more responsible than the non-present parent.
