Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Ex wife wants new wife to pay child support

I have three children and have recently gotten remarried. The ex wife of my new husband is threatening that she is going after me for child support in addition to what my husband pays her for child support for their three children. I work two jobs to make ends meet while she doesn't work at all. My question is ''Can she take child support from me?

Re: Ex wife wants new wife to pay child support

Absolutely not! However, the "ex" can present your earnings to the court as a way of showing that your present husband has more "disposal income" since you earn money to help with the monthly living expenses. Child support may be increased or decreased any time after the final judgment and then only every two years after a modification is granted.
