Legal Question in Administrative Law in Georgia

my wife passed away and the car tiles are also in her name also her name is on the house deed how do i get things squared away. i got a letter of administration.

I'm sorry to tell you that you have likely messed up and it's possibly partly unfixable. (I'm sorry for your loss, and even sorrier that you may have messed up). You should have seen a lawyer first. BTW in misposting this under Administrative Law (which deals with things very different than probate) many probate lawyers here never saw your question (it should have been in probate law). What you should have done probably is years support - which would have put you ahead of debts (and other heirs) and saved on your property taxes. That would have likely been better than administration.

See a lawyer in the AM. You MIGHT be able to undo the Administration if you didn't get too far and do Years Support, or work both together. And if Administration is the best route, you'll get it right. Yourquestion tells me you were very unprepared. Transfering assets is the last step, after dealing with other things - advertising, heirs, waiting periods, creditors, etc.

I hate to bear bad news, but the good news is you can avoid more missteps with counsel.
