Legal Question in Appeals and Writs in Georgia

My former wife is appealing a small claims court award I got (about $1800) in Georgia. She now has an attorney and has requested a jury trial for the appeal. Can I represent myself? An attorney estimated it would cost about $5000 to represent me (to try to collect $1800!)

Thanks.

Yes, an individual may always represent themselves, regardless of how unwise it may be.
