Car loan with a co-signer
If you have a car loan with a co-signer and your name is on the top and the only name on the title, can that co-signer remove their name from the loan and force you to give up the car? Or even take the car from you in any way?

Re: Car loan with a co-signer
Ah, no. Not by virtue of merely being a co-signer on a note, anyway. If the note is in default for non-payment, it is possible, depending on what was signed, that the co-signer could have a right to take the vehicle. It also could make a difference if the person whose name is on the title is a minor and the co-signer is a parent. In that case, the parent would have the authority to refuse to allow use of the vehicle, but would not actually own it.
