Legal Question in Banking Law in Georgia
in our church we voted for a new pastor and members didn't agree so church split up, but the other half went to the bank and had the church money transfered in another account. None of their names was on the account. Can the bank do this without the permission of the people who's name is on the account? And can they be held liable for the checks that was returned unpaid.

Rather than waiting for a response on an internet forum, the people in charge need to go to the bank immediately to see what happened and get all account statements and paperwork. If that was done, it was not mentioned in your post and that is important. If it was done, the best bet is to see a lawyer to try to resolve any disputes. Your issue is not something to resolve here.
