Legal Question in Banking Law in Georgia
My ex-husband has now sold the house we bought together. He is not giving me and of the profit made on the sale of the house. I actually have access to the money because we still have a joint account in our names. My question is: Is it legal to go into the joint account and take my share of the profit from the house since we were married when we bought it?

First of all, you've badly screwed up your divorce. The first thing your lawyer certainly told you to do was to close all joint accounts before the case even started. And in the case, either by agreement or court order, the disposition of the house was locked in. If you were to get any money from it the decree said how and when and your lawyer either had you on the deed or recorded a list or dens so you'd be paid at closing, if you were awarded any of the home. The joint account if still opened was also divided in the divorce.
No you can't change things up now and steal the money. If he has violated the decree call your lawyer and start a contempt. And ask him how to handle the fact you messed up and didn't close the joint account.
