Legal Question in Banking Law in Georgia
Is there a way or work around to protect the money in my account where something happens to me if I had to get put into a nursing home? I was told that before Medicare pays anything that they take the money out of your bank account first for payment. Is there a way to prevent this? Like putting money into a prepaid card or anything at all that would keep this from happening???
Thanks so much in advance!

They would also take the prepaid card.
Planning for nursing care expenses is something that must be started MANY years in advance and requires complex legal planning. In some cases, via trusts and other methods, assets can be shielded. The time to start planning this is at least a decade before you think you may face nursing care (if not younger).
