Re: Bankruptcy

These and other questions can only be answered by the attorney you hire to handle your case. The answers will be based on your specific circumstances, whether you file Chapter 7 or 13, and so on. As or cost, like most things, you generally get the level and quality of service you pay for.

Re: Bankruptcy

Step one is to see a lawyer and bring in information. You also must have a credit counseling certificate (call me for info on how to get one). The form you need to complile the information is the bankruptcy worksheet from a lawyer (we have one at www.glenashman.com ). Feel free to call for an appointment.

The court itself will charge a filing fee of $274 to $299. The legal fees vary by type of bankruptcy, number of creditors, whether you are married and other information. On average, Chapter 7's run about $290-$1250 and Chapter 13s around $2500. I would need to see a completed worksheet to give an exact quote.

I've been handling them for 26 years, so if you're near metro Atlanta, I'd be glad to help. My office is a federal debt relief agency, and I'm an attorney who regularly does bankruptcy. Please contact me for further details.
