I filed bankruptcy in April 2000. It will have been dischraged 8 years next month. I wanted to know if I can file again. I filed chapter 7.

The dates in your post are not correct. If you filed in April 2000, your case could not have been discharged until at least 4-6 months later. However, that date won't matter. As long as you are 8 years past the FILING date, you can file. My office has 27 years experience in Chapter 7 cases.
