Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Georgia
Bankruptcy law changes as applied to previous filers
Having applied for and granted Chpt. 7 Bankruptcy
(1998) in the State of Georgia. (But not currently a
reside there)
--name removed--recent bankruptcy law changes effect
the length of
my 'sentence'? Am I 'on the lender bad credit books' for
7 (2005) or 10 (2008) years for this financial
indiscretion/mistake? Upon viewing my Credit report
recently, I discovered that some lenders had increased
their 'reporting period' for my bankruptcy to ten (not
seven) years. Were prior bankruptcy fliers such as
myself, 'grandfathered into' current law changes in a
way that 'lengthened' the time period of credit report
disclosure? Your recommendations?
(As an aside, I also have $120,000 in student loans that
were not included in the original bankruptcy decision.
Any suggestions here?)
