Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Georgia
Bankruptcy Payments
How much can the courts take from my paycheck to make my bankruptcy payments? I earn about 800 dollars per month and live alone. They are currently deducting 618 dollars for the bankruptcy payments. Is this legal? What is the maximum amount they can take?

Re: Bankruptcy Payments
You determined the amount in the plan you filed with the Court (and presumably your lawyer helped you in setting the number). Assuming the Court did not reject the amount, that is the amount. The amount is required to be the difference between your income and expenses, but also must be enough to cover your plan.
Re: Bankruptcy Payments
Your plan payment is determined by the amount of debt you have, your income and expense budget, that is what can you afford to pay and what, if any, equity you may have in property. You and your attorney should have reviewed this before your plan was filed with the court.
