Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Georgia

bankruptcy

I recently filed a joint chapter 7, then requested that it be converted to a chapter 13. Upon realizing my chapter 13 plan payment, I would like to have this chapter 13 case dismissed and file a chapter 7 (married filing single). Can I now file a chapter 7 after having a recent chapter 7(8/2008) converted to chapter 13 (8/2008). I have yet to have my creditors meeting.

Re: bankruptcy

See a bankruptcy to find out what is best, not just what you might be able to do. By not doing so from the beginning, and making a mistake, you face restrictions that kick in for a second case filing.

Re: bankruptcy

It sounds like you have done this without a lawyer, which is almost alaways a catastrophe. Multiple filings may or may not be allowed, and you may not be able to dismiss your case and could face bad faith claims from the trustee if you mess this up.

Get a lawyer ASAP.
