Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Georgia

BK and lawsuit

I am a defendant in a lawsuit filed by a former employer for breach of contract, non-solicitation, trade secret violation and other busienss torts. The case is a malicious case against myself and 2 others who left the company. We went through mediation and could not come to a settlement, the plaintiff is very unreasonalbe. At any rate, I am racking up debt left and right to defend myself and can not continue. Will filing BK stop the case in it's tracks and/or what about after a judgement is found?

Re: BK and lawsuit

It would likely stop the lawsuit for a while, but the plaintiff could request permission to continue to get a judgment. That judgment may or may not be dischargable in a bankruptcy case, depending on the facts.
