Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Georgia
Ch 13 bankruptcy in progress.
I am currently in the final year of a chapter 13 bankruptcy. I have maintained current payments throughout the term with approx. 6 months left. I have also maintained mortgage payments on my home. However, I have been unemployed for the past 2 1/2 months and am slipping in making the mortgage payment on time. I have been able to obtain a part-time job that brings in $200/mo. I am actively seeking full-time work. I cannot afford an attorney and want to sell my home so that it will not go into foreclosure. I have no savings. My understanding (at the time of the bankruptcy) was that I could not sell my home unless I go back into court to get permission to sell. Is there another way I can petition without having to enlist the aid of an attorney? I know I won't get any equity out of the house because I haven't been financially able to keep up with the maintenance. I just don't want a foreclosure on my credit along with the bankruptcy. I am a single person with no other income. Any advice you can offer will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

When you filed a Chapter 13, your lawyer was obligated to represent you for your whole case. That is the only person who can answer you now.
