Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Georgia
Chapter 13 Discharge
Why would my attorney advise me to continue paying payments into my Chpt 13 after my 36th payment? When I filed, I was informed this would be a 36 month program.
Also, what should I do to obtain a discharge document from the court?

Those are questions for your lawyer.
Re: Chapter 13 Discharge
Most Chapter 13 plans last 60 months, although plans can be 36-60 months. Your chapter 13 plan as confirmed has the answer to your question, so read it. A discharge happens automatically when your plan payments are complete.
As another lawyer indicated, you have paid your lawyer in full for 36-60 months of representation and no one else can answer questions about your case. You can and should be asking him.
