Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Georgia
Chapter 7
I live in the state of GA and was wondering some things about Chapter 7. I am in mediation with a ex business partner about a loan I didnt sign for and when we met today at the mediators office they will agree to some conditions, but only if I agree to not file against that debt. I dont like to sign something when I dont know what the future holds. I guess my main question would be can I file chapter 7 now before it goes to trial and have it wiped out?? I am diabled and unable to work so I dont know what to do. They are trying to attach my husband to it and he has all our items in his name so they are going to agree to let him off if I dont file. Can you offer any help?

Re: Chapter 7
Mediation is not something you should ever do without a lawyer and neither is bankruptcy. Before doing either, see a bankruptcy lawyer to discuss options. If you are in metro Atlanta feel free to call me.
