Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Georgia
Cosigner is going bankrupt
I had a cosigner that is going bankrupt. They are demanding that I relinquish my rights to an automobile that they cosigned on. Their name is not on the title. What are my options?

Re: Cosigner is going bankrupt
You omitted many facts, so a response is really not possible. Did the other person merely co-sign for you? Did he/she pay anything on the debt? Has he/she actually filed a bankruptcy petition? What does "relinquish my rights" mean? Whose does have title to the car? I suggest you re-post a more detailed note, including specific language used by the person asking you to "relinquish your rights."
