Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Georgia

Creditor closed acct

I had a credit card called carecredit for dental. I never included them because I had a zero balance. However I had some dental work done back in March and paid that off. I attempted to ask them if it was still valid and stated No, they closed it as of Sept 19, 2006 all because I filed BK 7 back in Oct 2005. Can they do that? They stated they can do that under the terms and condition. Now I have been applying and still cannot get anything to get dental work done.

Does the creditor have a right to do this and is it legal? I feel now they are discrminiating against me because I file BK

Re: Creditor closed acct

We do not know the terms of your credit card agreement, but yes creditors can generally cancel the card. You cannot MAKE people loan you money, and yes you will face adverse consequences from filing for bankruptcy.
