Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Georgia
Is this debt discharged forever?
My dad eneter a nursing home and my brother signed papers at the home in Georgia to be financially responsible for the difference Medicaid paid and the private room rate. That was in 2007, My brother filed and completed personal bankruptcy in 2008 in Tennessee and listed this debt.. My brother passed away 1/09. The nursing home is wanting me (sister and daughter) to assume the debt. Was the debt discharged completely OR just my brothers responsibility? My sister in law(bro widow) has no idea.I'm traveling form my home in TX to GA and meeting with the nursing home folks next Monday 3/9/09

One person's bankruptcy does not discharge the debts of another person.
