Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Georgia
divorcing and filing bankruptcy
My husband and i are in the middle of the divorce process. I recieved a letter in the mail stating he has filed bankruptcy and a meeting of the creditors is being held On June 11.
Since im the secondary and by law we are still married does that mean his bankruptcy filing includes me?
Or do i have to file myself?
Do i have to be present at the meeting of the creditors?

Re: divorcing and filing bankruptcy
A bankruptcy can have enormous impact on a divorce and yourself and you need to let your divorce lawyer look at the bankruptcy filing. He/she likely will need to be at the 341 meeting. This is not a do-it-yourself project and hopefully you already have counsel.
