Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Georgia

Must you file against everything?

If you file bankruptcy can you keep your house? And if you have put someone on a credit card as a authorized user and file on that card will it hurt their credit?

Re: Must you file against everything?

You "file against everything" in that you disclose, under penalty of perjury, all assets, all debts, and all details of your finances. What will happen to your case depends on the specific situation, and your BR lawyer will discuss the options with you.

Re: Must you file against everything?

Maybe, maybe not on the house. No bankruptcy attorney can answer without knowing all your assets, liabilities, income, expenses and other information.

As for authorized users, we'd also have to know more.

If you are contemplating bankruptcy, the first step is to compile information. You can get a free worksheet to do this at www.glenashman.com and then call for an appointment where we can review it.
