Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Georgia
I filed for a chapter 13 bankruptcy back in 2011 and recently due a family issue I was unable to make two payments and my case was dismissed. Can I reopen the case and catch up on the payments?

You need to speak with your lawyer, who knows all the facts and details and will know whether it is a good idea to try to reopen, file another one, or not file at all. As you know from 2011, MANY facts are relevant.
I agree with Mr. Riddle. Your attorney can tell you whether or not reopening and paying current, filing a motion for reconsideration and paying current (if the case was only dismissed within the last 14 days), or simply filing a new case would be the best option.
I agree with my colleagues. Your lawyer is the person to ask. There are LOTS of variables here and there is no way for us to be able to give you a definitive answer on an internet message board. I add only that you should talk to your lawyer SOON.
