Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Georgia

Filing a dispute

I plan on filing bankruptcy once I get the money (which should be in the next month or 2) in the mean time I was served with papers from a the courts due to a loan that I am unable to pay and I have to be in court within the next 2 weeks. I have contacted a lawyer and was told to go to the courthouse and file a dispute. What exactly do I do? Do I have to give a reason for the dispute? I don't know much about the legal action that I need to take. I know where to go but not sure what to do.

Re: Filing a dispute

Since you do not state which court this is in, there is really no way to provide any specifics, and even then, no one can tell you how to defend the case without the actual facts and documents. However, for very, very, general information, one needs to respond to a lawsuit within the required time limit and deny the substantive allegations. Beyond that, you would really need a lawyer to handle it.
