Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Georgia
Lose home if filing for bankruptcy?
I have been told different things by different attorneys regarding losing my home if I file for bankruptcy. I own a home and am getting close to have to file for bankruptcy due to my business going under. Will I lose my home if I file for bankruptcy? If I have equity in the home, will that be taken away?

Re: Lose home if filing for bankruptcy?
If you spoke with lawyers and provied them more information than you provided here, you have better responses than you can get here. No one can guess what may happen to your home when you provide absolutely no facts other than you own a home. You need to sit down and go over all facts with a lawyer, if you have not done so.
Re: Lose home if filing for bankruptcy?
No one can answer you yes or no without your complete financial information including your other assets, your current and recent income, your expenses, the amount of equity, who the lender is, whether you are past due, how many owners there are, etc.
